How we pick deals

Every deal gets a score out of 100. It is our own ordering, not a Steam number, and the same formula is used for every store. The Best deals sort and the order of the home page use it.

What goes into the score

  • Size of the discount (up to 35). A bigger cut ranks higher. Cuts above 90% count the same.
  • How well liked it is (up to 25). The share of positive reviews on Steam, or the store's own rating if Steam has none. Small samples are smoothed, so 3 positive reviews out of 3 does not beat 9,000 out of 10,000.
  • How well known it is (up to 20). More reviews rank higher, so popular games surface first.
  • Price against the lowest we have tracked (up to 10). Only counted once we have watched the game's price long enough to know its low.
  • A fresh sale (up to 10). Sales that started in the last 48 hours get a boost that fades away.
  • Free to keep (30 extra). Games that are free for a limited time go to the top.

The deal labels

Once we have tracked a game's price for 30 days, Great deal means the price is the lowest we have tracked, and Good deal means within 15% of it. Before that we judge by the size of the discount alone and say so on the game's page.

The Daily drop

One game a day, picked automatically, and we do not repeat a game within 30 days. Each weekday has a theme (Indie gem, Co-op night, Big AAA, Under $5, Weekend binge, Highest rated, Wildcard). We look for a great deal that fits the theme and is well liked (at least 500 reviews and 80% positive), then any well-liked game that fits the theme, then any well-liked great deal. On the rare day nothing qualifies, it is simply the best-scoring deal of the day.

What we do not do

Commissions never decide which deals we show or their order (see our affiliate disclosure). Adult games are always hidden. Games you mark Not interested are hidden only on your device.
