Privacy policy

Last updated November 1, 2026.

GameToClaim does not require an account. Without signing in, the only personal information you can give us is the reply address you may type on the Contact page.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with GameToClaim. We never see your Google password.

For signed-in visitors we store: that Google profile, your saved wishlist, your price-alert settings, and (if you turn alerts on) when you agreed to receive them. We use this only to keep your wishlist on every device and to send the price alerts you chose. We don't sell or share it, and we don't use it for advertising.

Emails

Price alert emails are sent through an email delivery provider, which receives your email address and the email for that purpose only. Every alert email has an unsubscribe link, and you can switch alerts off on your wishlist page at any time.

The weekly deals email is a separate choice: you only get it if you turn it on, it comes at most once a week, and every one has its own unsubscribe link (turning it off doesn't change your price alerts).

The free-game email is a third, separate choice: you only get it if you turn it on, when a new free-to-keep game comes out (usually Thursdays), and every one has its own unsubscribe link.

Steam

If you connect Steam (by signing in on Steam's own page or pasting your profile link), we read that profile's public wishlist and list of owned games. We add the wishlist games to your wishlist here, and remember which of the games we track you already own, so we can tag them “Owned” on the site. We keep your public Steam ID (the number in your profile link) so we can refresh that list about once a day. We never see your Steam password. "Disconnect Steam" on your Settings page, or deleting your account, removes the Steam ID and that list.

Your dashboard page reads more of your public Steam profile each time you open it: your name and picture, level, recent playtime, achievements, and which of your friends are online (only if your Steam privacy settings make them public). That is shown to you only and kept in the server's memory for ten minutes, not saved.

Shared wishlists

If you share your wishlist, anyone with the link can see the games on it and the optional name you gave the page, nothing else (not your email, picture or Steam account). The link is random and kept out of search engines. "Stop sharing" or "Make a new link" on your wishlist page turns the old link off right away.

Download or delete your data

On your Settings page you can download a copy of your data, sign out on every device, or delete your account ("Delete my account"). Deleting removes your profile, saved wishlist and alert settings from our servers right away; backups are overwritten within 30 days.

Visit counts

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you across other sites; it records things like the page visited, the site you came from, your browser type and country, so we can see what's useful.

We also keep simple daily totals of how the site is used: which store buttons, filters, sorts and lists are used, what is searched for (shown to us only when searched several times), and whether it was on a phone or a computer. These totals contain no IP address, cookie, account or anything else that identifies you.

Cookies and your browser

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, we set one sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 60 days, or until you sign out. The Google sign-in button is loaded from Google only when you open Sign in, and Google's own privacy policy applies to it. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may set a short-lived security cookie to protect it from abuse.

A few things are kept only in your browser and never sent to us: your wishlist when you are not signed in, the theme you picked, and the lists below. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

The "Recently viewed" row on the home page is kept only in your browser (the games you opened lately, up to ten); we never receive it. "Clear" in that row, or clearing your browser's site data, removes it.

The "Not interested" list (the games you hid with the ✕ on a deal card) is also kept only in your browser; we never receive it. "Show them again" under the deals, or clearing your browser's site data, removes it.

The currency button (US$, CA$, £, €, A$) remembers your pick only in your browser; we never receive it (our daily totals count how often each currency is picked, without anything about you). Before you pick, the site starts in the currency of your browser's time zone or language (for example CA$ in Canada, £ in the UK, € in the euro countries, A$ in Australia). Each currency's prices are each store's own price in that country (Ireland for €, Australia for A$), never a conversion.

Reports and messages

If you use "Report a wrong price or match" on a game page, we keep the game, the reason you picked and your note, with the date, and delete the report 90 days after we have dealt with it. We don't keep your name, email or IP address with it, and the form doesn't ask for them. To stop floods of reports, our server remembers your connection's address for one hour, in memory only.

If you send a message from the Contact page, we keep the topic you picked, your message and the date, and the reply address only if you type one, and we also email the message to our contact address. We delete the saved message 90 days after we have dealt with it; the emailed copy stays in our mailbox like any email you send us. We don't keep your name or IP address with it. To stop floods, our server remembers your connection's address for one hour, in memory only.

Hosting, fonts and store links

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and performance. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

When you click through to a store, that store and any affiliate network involved may set cookies to credit the referral. Their own privacy policies apply on their sites.

Your rights and questions

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. We answer within 30 days. Write to [email protected] with any privacy question.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
